About Us

     The Jesus Centers are apart of Missions Inc., a non-profit, 501 (c)(3), tax-exempt organization since 1966, founded by Pastor Darrel "Dick" Severson.  We have been working with the poor and spiritually hungry since 1970.  We have been working in Houston, TX since 1982 providing shelter and Bible study for the homeless, witnessing on the streets, and helping others to develop a ministry. 

Although we are still actively helping people in our part of Houston and operate a small men's home, our main outreach since 2003 has been the Rio Grande Valley.   We believe that it is the heart of God not only to tell people the good news about his son, but also to help the the fatherless, the widows, the sojourner and the poor.  Our goal is to do that ourselves and to assist other ministries that are doing the same.
